Senior SAP Basis / Platform Operations Specialist

We are looking for a Senior SAP Basis / Platform Operations Specialist for a large, well‑established international company to help define, implement, and operate an SAP S/4HANA platform on RISE with SAP (Private Cloud).

This is a senior technical role combining deep SAP Basis expertise with strong operational and governance focus, working closely with SAP Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS) and internal IT teams.

The assignment is initially offered as a minimum 6‑month contract, with the possibility of permanent employment.

Your Role

You will act as a senior SAP Basis specialist with responsibility for shaping and executing the future operational and technical operating model for SAP S/4HANA – both during the implementation program and in steady‑state operations.

You will ensure that SAP Basis disciplines are actively used to build a stable, predictable, and supportable platform, even within a managed service setup.

Key Responsibilities

• Senior SAP Basis expertise with operational focus
  Act as a senior technical SAP Basis resource, translating SAP Basis disciplines (architecture, landscape design, transports, security, monitoring, lifecycle management) into a scalable and robust operational setup for S/4HANA on RISE.
• Design and implementation of the S/4HANA operating model
  Define and implement the technical and operational operating model covering run, change, incident, problem, and lifecycle processes, aligned with SAP RISE roles and responsibilities.
• Technical governance and ownership
  Establish clear roles, responsibilities, escalation paths, and technical accountability between internal teams, adjacent IT functions, and SAP ECS.
• Active participation in the S/4HANA program
  Participate hands‑on in the implementation program to ensure platform and operational requirements are embedded from the start. Review technical designs and validate SAP ECS deliverables.
• Transition from project to operations
  Lead the technical transition to operations, including operational readiness, handover, documentation, and knowledge transfer before go‑live.
• Operational execution after go‑live
  Take technical responsibility for platform stability, performance, and compliance, and act as the technical authority in incidents, changes, and complex operational issues.
• Collaboration with SAP ECS
  Work closely with SAP ECS on a technical level, challenge and validate execution where needed, and ensure delivered services align with agreed responsibilities.
• Continuous improvement
  Mature processes, reduce dependencies, improve automation, and strengthen internal SAP Basis capabilities over time. 

Required Experience and Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of hands‑on experience in SAP Basis / SAP platform operations
• Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture and operations, preferably in cloud or hosted environments
• Proven experience applying SAP Basis disciplines to real‑world operational models
• Experience working with managed service providers or SAP ECS‑like models, while retaining technical ownership on the customer side
• Solid understanding of IT service management concepts
• Structured, execution‑oriented, and technically grounded working style
• Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
• Fluent in English (Danish is an advantage, not a requirement)

Work location
You must be able to work on‑site in Hørsholm at least two days per week.
